Details

Add a touch of historic charm to your home with the Olde Forge Ball Mortice Door Knob, with a 5-year guarantee. Perfectly suited for cottages, period properties, and barn conversions, this handle captures the essence of traditional craftsmanship. As part of the exclusive Olde Forge range, it offers you a classic rustic style at an affordable price, allowing you to achieve a high-quality finish without stretching your budget.

Manufactured using authentic traditional techniques, the knob boasts a distinctive hammered finish in antique black iron. This attention to detail ensures a genuine handmade look that adds warmth and character to any interior door.

Unlike many antique reproductions, this knob is sprung on one side, a modern feature that ensures smooth operation and helps the handle return perfectly to position after every use.

Key features

  • Authentic hammered finish: The antique black iron surface is textured to replicate time-honoured ironmongery, perfect for enhancing the period feel of your property.
  • Sprung mechanism: Unlike many traditional knobs, this is sprung on one side to ensure easy operation and a consistent return to position.
  • Traditional manufacturing: Made using age-old techniques to ensure every handle possesses a unique, hand-made character.
  • Substantial feel: With a knob diameter of 44.5mm and a projection of 69mm, it offers a comfortable and sturdy grip.
  • Easy installation: Features a standard 62mm rose diameter, making it suitable for fitting to most standard internal doors.

Applications

The Olde Forge Ball Mortice Door Knob is versatile and suitable for a wide range of interior uses, including:

  • Cottages and Period Homes: An ideal choice for replacing tired hardware or restoring the original character of historic buildings.
  • Barn Conversions: The rugged, industrial quality of the hammered iron contrasts beautifully with exposed beams and brickwork.
  • Farmhouse Interiors: Perfect for creating a 'country chic' aesthetic in modern homes, adding immediate visual interest to plain doors.
  • Restoration Projects: A cost-effective solution for large-scale renovations where maintaining a consistent traditional theme is essential.
